and even saw a celebrity (Martin Scorsese). Or at least we're 99% sure we saw him (I thought it would be rude to take a picture).
And on to Blueberry news:
So I've heard that pregnant women experience indescribable fatigue, which I have to admit isn't something I've had the "pleasure" of dealing with. I have noticed, however, that when I physically exert myself (climbing stairs or whatnot), I get tired very quickly. I "used to could" climb stairs like nobody's business. Last year Chris and I were in England and we climbed the stairs to the top of York Minster (275 steps) and St. Paul's Cathedral (530 steps). (Hey, I'm going to throw in some more pictures to make this more fun!)
Here's York Minster--we climbed the big square tower on the left:
And here we are at the top of St. Paul's Cathedral. (That was just about one year ago...if you saw the picture I posted the other day, you can see how much my hair has grown! G is right, it' grows fast--that means I can donate it more often!)
Now back to the story:
When I climbed about 20 or 30 steps today when we were leaving the subway station, I was winded by the time I got to the top. I don't know if that's because I'm pregnant or because I'm not in very good shape, but either way it was a little embarrassing! I'm moving a lot more slowly these days! I'm the type of person who likes to push myself a bit when it comes to exercise, but with this new "situation" I'm dealing with, it's hard to tell if I should continue to push myself or if I need to back off a bit. I mean, staying in shape is important, but I'm having a hard time gauging how much is too much. Most people warn against pushing myself too hard (which is not necessary because I would never do anything that I thought would harm Blueberry). Others say that they continued to run and work out throughout their pregnancies, and that their pregnancies were easier because of it. Of course, since I've gained weight but am still not convinced that I actually AM pregnant, I just feel fat and out of shape, which makes me want to work out even more.
One other thing that's probably completely random--my tailbone has been hurting since the beginning of our drive to Virginia last week (I don't think it was caused by the drive because it was hurting very early in the trip). Every time I sit down, stand up, or bend over, it hurts, and I'm really perplexed. Maybe it just hasn't gotten better because we've been going nonstop for the last 8 days. I hope it settles down once we get home, back into our own bed, and back to our routine.
Oh, and yesterday I spent over $100 on clothes that I didn't really want to buy. It was traumatic. Thankfully, I don't really need to wear them yet, but I have a feeling I'm going to, especially the pants. What I really need now are some jeans, but the ones I tried on just didn't fit at all. I foresee some frustrating shopping in my near future.
