Naming your fetus

We started calling our fetus Blueberry, which is kind of obvious since it's the name of my blog. Today I started thinking about what other people have named their fetuses--I've heard of "Peanut," "Bean," "Lima Bean," etc... No offense to anyone else, but I like ours best. :)

I also think it's kind of weird to refer to a fetus by his or her first name. I think the name should come when he or she is finally born. But since we're not planning on finding out what we're having, I think Blueberry is nice and androgynous. Although I guess that if we knew we were having a girl, we'd call her Pinkberry.

  1. I love the name you have picked! I also loved when you referred to the 'little spout'. 15 weeks and counting!

  2. I love blueberry...it's adorable. When Kole was in my tummy, we called him "little buddy" and when he was born we still called him that, and now he's just "buddy". I think naming the fetus is a great idea, it brings identity to the baby. I never quite felt comfortable saying "it."

  3. I'm so happy I continued reading a few more of your posts. The first one I read mentioned Blueberry and I was so confused. How in the world can a blueberry travel? Toooo funny! Cute name! You're already a wonderful mother (smile).
