We started calling our fetus Blueberry, which is kind of obvious since it's the name of my blog. Today I started thinking about what other people have named their fetuses--I've heard of "Peanut," "Bean," "Lima Bean," etc... No offense to anyone else, but I like ours best. :)
I also think it's kind of weird to refer to a fetus by his or her first name. I think the name should come when he or she is finally born. But since we're not planning on finding out what we're having, I think Blueberry is nice and androgynous. Although I guess that if we knew we were having a girl, we'd call her Pinkberry.

I love the name you have picked! I also loved when you referred to the 'little spout'. 15 weeks and counting!
ReplyDeleteI love blueberry...it's adorable. When Kole was in my tummy, we called him "little buddy" and when he was born we still called him that, and now he's just "buddy". I think naming the fetus is a great idea, it brings identity to the baby. I never quite felt comfortable saying "it."
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy I continued reading a few more of your posts. The first one I read mentioned Blueberry and I was so confused. How in the world can a blueberry travel? Toooo funny! Cute name! You're already a wonderful mother (smile).
