My adorable nephew

This story has nothing to do with Blueberry, but rather my nephews, who I absolutely adore. They're my brother's boys, and you can see a picture of them below. Nate (middle) is 8, Trey (right) is 5, and Caleb (left) is 4. This picture was taken at the Buffalo Zoo in August, 2008.

They're such fun, funny kids, and they all have the best personalities. Trey is especially funny. He's had a good sense of humor since he started to talk, but half the time he says things that are HILARIOUS without even knowing he's being funny. My mom told me a story today that made me laugh so hard I couldn't breathe.

A little background: My brother is divorced and lives with my parents. He gets the boys every other weekend, but my parents are pretty much in charge of watching them, especially when my brother is working or at school. One weekend when my brother was off doing other things, my parents took the kids to the cemetery to tend the graves of my grandfather and great-grandparents. Trey asked my parents what my grandpa looks like "right now," and my mom explained that he's turned into dust (he passed away nearly 30 years ago). My dad was digging a hole to plant Hostas, and as he was digging, he hit something hard and it made a big clunking sound. Trey popped up from behind a grave stone and said, "Did you find him?" Apparently he thought my dad was digging up my grandpa! While that's kind of sad (joking at my late grandfather's expense), I think it's pretty funny, and to be honest, if grandpa were around to witness that, I'm sure he would have been laughing, too!

  1. He would have laughed so hard that he probably would have peed on himself. Now that was to make you laugh....again!

  2. These kids are beautiful:) Kids are the best they say exactly what they mean to say. My son asked me when he was 5 mommy is Jesus still on the cross? Thankfully I was at a light looking at him through my mirror, he was happily eating a French Fries. He waited patiently for my response. I had no idea why he asked, so I simply said no baby he got down:)
